Steak Nacho Box from Taco Bell:
Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Taco Bell. I know what people say. I love my spouse, I love my kids, or I love my dog/cat/reptile (theres always one creepy reptile guy). But you are wrong.
Thats not the kind of love I am talking about. It doesnt even really describe my feelings towards Taco Bell. Its beyond love. Its an obsession. A healthy unhealthy obsession. So I was pretty
excited to try out there new Steak Nacho Box. "But Bernie, the Steak Nacho Box isnt new it came out 2 months ago as part of their E6 product lauch". Yes i know but 3 Beers and a Mic graciously
allowed me to write up food related reviews. So I'm starting here. Anyway, on to the review!
First things first the Steak Nacho Box is pretty straight forward. Its a box of their nachos topped with steak, 3 cheese blend, nacho cheese sauce, pico de gallo, beans, and reduced fat sourcream.
But seeing that I am a veteran Taco Beller, thats not good enough for me. This is where their app becomes your best friend. It makes customizing orders super simple. People get nervous about asking for customizations in person so doing it through the app is the perfect way to get yourself to Live Mas. I added the following items to the box: creamy jalapeño sauce, potatoes, red strips, season nacho fries and extra nacho cheese sauce. When they handed me the box through the drive thru window it had some serious weight to it. I had to use 2 hands. And thats exactly how I like it.
Taco Bells nacho chips are nothing to write home about. They are average at best. Crispy, salty, and well thats about it. Not a lto of flavor to them at all, but adding all of these ingredients on top of those fairly bland chips changes the game. I thought by the time I got home the chips would be soggy. Theres alot of sauces on there. A LOT. To my surprise every single chip was still pretty crispy down to the last delicious bite. They were awesome, easily one of the best new items I have ever had at Taco Bell. I was very disappointed with the Wild Naked Chicken Chalupa the month before so I didnt really know what to expect. I mean its just a box of nachos. But this is where
the customization comes in and why its so important. It took a good box of nachos and made them great. You can literally make America great again with a push of some buttons. It added some extra cost to the bill, but sometimes
you got to treat yo-self.
The beer i would pair this with would be a Corona Light, as it is Tex-Mex? It is also heavey so a light beer is needed
I would definitely order these again. It was extremely filling. I was struggling to finish them, but I did because I am Bernappetit and I have a reputation to uphold. The regular box is only 5 dollars and with my customizations (I added a side of nacho fries because they are my favorite) it came to 9 dollars and some change. So if you are looking for a great, easy, and filling meal you should definitely give them a shot. You will thank me later.
I give the Steak Nacho Box from Taco Bell: 4.5 beers out of 5
